Nicholas Brems is Passionate About Animal Adoption

Nicholas Brems loves animals, and was fortunate enough to marry a woman who shares his appreciation for furry friends. Both Nicholas Brems and his wife have always been mindful of the plights of dogs who have been abandoned or given up for adoption. These animals are often traumatized, abused, or suffering from abandonment issues. As Nicholas Brems sadly acknowledges, the SPCA in Pinellas County counted 1,717 stray dogs and 3,112 stray cats between January of 2013 and May 2013 alone. Thanks to other animal lovers in addition to Nicholas Brems and his wife, 1,634 dogs were adopted from the Pinellas County SPCA, and 1,235 cats were adopted during that time.

Nicholas Brems and his wife are incredibly dedicated to supporting the adoption of rescued dogs. In fact, Nicholas Brems and his wife went above and beyond financial support – they decided to adopt a rescued dog of their own. Nicholas Brems and his wife first adopted a Manchester terrier from the Manchester Terrier Rescue Group. Florida’s chapter of the Manchester Terrier Rescue Group is part of RescueMe.org, which has helped 103,856 animals get adopted to date. Nicholas Brems and his wife next adopted a Scottish terrier from the same organization, a Westie terrier, and then a third mixed breed dog from the SPCA.

Having adopted four different breeds of dogs – a Manchester terrier, a Scottish terrier, a Westie terrier, and a mixed breed dog – Nicholas Brems and his wife were at dog capacity in their home, but they didn’t stop supporting animal adoption there. Acknowledging that there is always more work to be done when it comes to rescuing animals, Nicholas Brems and his wife decided to contribute financially to an organization advocating for rescued Labrador retrievers. Apart from donating money, Nicholas Brems and his wife also are actively involved in fundraising for the organization.
